Following the road alongside the Haast River on the South Island of New Zealand, I rounded a bend and saw this view. I quickly parked up by the side of the road and got out my camera. A ray of sunlight had burst through a gap in the clouds and was causing steam to rise from the shallow river bed. To me, there is primal dramatic feel to this shot conjured only by nature. All I had to do was turn up and hit the shutter release.
