I had been looking for a location to shoot sunset up in the Holywood hills above Belfast when I noticed the sky and the formation of the clouds. Having not found a composition I decided to head down to the shoreline with the hope of catching the light reflecting in the tidal pools. I have to admit that I was rushing to get this shot before the light changed and looking at the settings this was probably one of the first few shots I’ve captured with the camera on auto. It’s good to look back and see where I was as a photographer and how differently I would do things now, but I still like this image a lot and it was one of the first large prints that I ever sold.
