This was the first time I had seen the Milky Way as vivid as this with my own eyes. I was in my campervan on South Island of New Zealand looking over Lake Ohau. Having only shot a few Astro images before, it’s fair to say that I was not in my comfort zone. It took me a good hour of shooting up to 30-second exposures before I got close to the right settings. I have to say that I learned a lot from this night and still use that knowledge to this day on night sky photoshoots and I a pretty pleased with the image. A good nights work!
