This image is taken from Mount Phousi, in Luang Prabang, Laos. Mount Phousi is the highest point in Luang Prabang, standing at 100 m above sea level. From the summit you can enjoy a spectacular panoramic view across the city and its many temples, and over the surrounding landscape to the mountains in the distance. As I found out it’s popular as a place to watch the sun rise or set over the Mekong River. I had arrived at the summit with friends a good hour before sunset and had picked my spot only to be swamped by people looking to watch the sunset. In the end, I set my camera on a flat ledge above my head and used my phone as a remote to take this shot, which allowed me to cut out all the people in front of me.
