I had been exploring the sand dunes of Murlough Beach, just outside of Newcastle, County Down. I was looking for a composition with the dunes in the foreground and the Mourne Mountains in the background, as the sun was setting. I wasn’t convinced that I had the right composition and when I looked to the shore I could see the sunlight reflecting off the water as the tide retreated. I abandoned the dunes and made my way to the beach to capture this image at dusk.
